Weather at the Las Vegas Sign
The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign is located outdoors at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. Because there is limited shade around the attraction, weather conditions can have a major impact on how comfortable your visit will be.
During summer, daytime temperatures in Las Vegas can become extremely high. Early morning and evening are generally more comfortable for taking photos and spending time around the sign. During winter, daytime conditions are usually much milder, although mornings and nights can feel considerably cooler.
Best Time of Day to Visit
Weather is particularly important when deciding what time to visit the Las Vegas Sign. During hot periods, early morning is often the most comfortable option and usually has the additional advantage of smaller crowds.
Evening is another popular choice. Temperatures begin to fall after sunset and the illuminated sign creates the classic Las Vegas nighttime atmosphere.
Las Vegas Summer Weather
Summer in Las Vegas is extremely hot and dry. Visitors should be prepared for intense sunshine and very high afternoon temperatures. If the forecast calls for extreme heat, consider visiting early in the morning or after sunset rather than during the hottest part of the day.
Las Vegas Winter Weather
Winter conditions are much cooler and generally comfortable for sightseeing during the day. However, desert temperatures can fall quickly after sunset, so checking the evening forecast is useful if you plan to take nighttime photos.
Before You Visit
Check the current temperature, wind, precipitation chances and hourly forecast above before heading to the sign. During warmer months, bring drinking water and sun protection. During cooler months, an extra layer may be useful for early-morning or nighttime visits.
